Love Your Mind, Body and Soul

|

Mickie Kent's Love Your Mind, Body and Soul Series, Train your mind body and soul to the vibrancy of love

In our household every morning, my twin flame wakes up and recounts his mantra: Live or die on this day.

And it sets up his whole mindset for the day ahead. He adapted the line from the movie The Grey with Liam Neeson. In the movie, there is a flashback where the father of Neeson's character had written a poem. The theme of the poem is always present throughout the movie and is revealed and integrated into the final scene.

Once more into the fray
Into the last good fight I’ll ever know
Live and die on this day
Live and die on this day

It's a movie with a big lesson. The very lesson he has placed in his soul, into his very being every day: to live. It reminds him that every day he has a choice. A choice to get to where he needs to go today. A choice to live.

Naturally, it's a choice we all need to make. As my twin flame says, "You better choose to live, or you will die without ever knowing what it is to live".

To me, life is worth living when we love our mind, body and soul. Success comes to us in all areas of our life, when we work in harmony with the world around us, and the world inside us, to create a oneness of the corporeal, spiritual and intellectual aspects of humanity.

How we reach this point of oneness will be an individual journey, as individual as we all are as human beings. What connects us all to this purpose is that we need to do this to really live.

Eventually, if we fail to bring awareness to any one of these important three connectors that wake us up to the energy of life, we lose vibrancy. Failure to connect to life in this way, means we are no better than the walking dead.

Created with this in mind, I've decided to share a series of important articles that will create an awareness about the importance of synchronising our mind, body and soul to the same vibration - that of love, the true source that gives meaning and purpose to a life filled with uncertainty and the fleeting sands of time.

Ultimately, we must love our mind, love our thoughts, and create a positive, life affirming mindset to attract the right people and situations into our lives. We must love and listen to our bodies, to keep them working at an optimum level for health and high standard of living. We must love, be mindful of, and listen to our soul, our spirit and sit not in judgement of ourselves or others for past mistakes, but sit in the seat of emotion that can heal all things.

Now to do this, imagine the triumvirate of mind, body and soul as three pillars of an exquisite statute or architectural temple, which exemplifies a certain symmetry, a certain harmony of the part to the part and of part to the whole that seems beautiful to the eye because of the harmony of its proportions. This is dependant on balance - and love is the great balancer and the measure of all things that help us to this aim.

Thus human beings are a coming together of principles, of proportions, of shapes - with the potential to be rather like an orchestrated piece of music, in which the harmonies of the three instruments of mind, body and soul are fused together in a glorious orchestrated symphony of oneness - where the three behave as one.

If you're ready and willing to harmonise your mind, body and soul - and design a lifestyle around this belief of oneness to attract only the best life has to offer - then enlighten yourself with the contents I share with you below. Note them carefully, they will help you train your mind, body and soul to sync this powerful triumvirate to the vibrancy of love.

Search for the Soul

Facing spiritual matters is probably the most difficult, but that doesn't mean it is any less important. Faith is as powerful as belief, and both are intertwined like star-crossed lovers. No one knows for certain what the meaning of life is, but some would argue that it is the soul that give life meaning.

Understandably, some believe this is the essential source of our vibrancy, with which our other two parts must align with for complete harmony. That's why articles on mind healing, as above, urge you to follow your passions and discover your true calling in life for a successful lifestyle.

Critically, whether or not you believe in a soul or think it's all just mystic literature, there will be times that life defies logic and you simply have to go by the voice in your heart. And as we need to feed the mind with positive thoughts, and the body with energising foods, what is the food for the soul?

Knowing the answer is thought to be in our feelings, as our major source to help us discover what it means to be human. And unlike positive and negative thoughts, some suggest there are no positive or negative emotions - we have the power to feel every emotion as love.

Would you like to be the person who gets what they want, enjoys life, has time to spare and is completely fulfilled? Most of us would love to have that kind of life - but are you committed and dedicated to making it happen? If not, then nothing will ever get better.

There are many people that don't completely accept the idea that when you truly believe something and have faith that it will happen, then it really will happen. Then there are those who say they practice it, but really don't truly practice it, they just think they do.

However, there are living examples of people who truly practice believing and have tremendous success with this concept. All we have to do is believe in the power of believing, and keep believing.

But before you can establish your power of believing, so that you achieve your goals, you need to have a number of elements in place before this power of believing can help you achieve your goals. To utilise the power of believing, you need to create a new belief system so that you eliminate the negative thought processes that have been holding you back for so long.

What you believe is what you get

The word believe laid out in the palms of handsBefore I get into how to utilise the power of believing I think it's important to give you a little background and I thought it would be more helpful to look at some concrete information that proves what you believe is what you get.

Read about the power of thoughts.

Recent studies show that a person who believes they are truly sick and that they are going to die will not fare as well as someone who believes they can recover and will survive. And those who believe they will get better usually go on to live a healthy lifestyle.

You need to change your brain, to change your life. Today in New York City, doctors at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center are teaching cancer patients the power of positive thinking, and how their beliefs will impact their chances of survival.

Since the turn of the 21st century, researchers have begun taking a closer look at the impact the state of a person's mind has on their health and life. Those that have completed their studies have found that what we think and the state of our mind have a direct impact on our life, reality and health.

There is nothing more complex than the human brain. We have more connections in our brain than stars in the universe. It is the most expensive real estate in our body. Revelations based on studying 63,000 brain images across 90 countries over 20 years at the Amen Clinics in the USA has shown how brain imaging can change paradigms and our understanding of healthy life, no matter where we live.

Did you know your brain is involved in everything you do? How you think, how you feel, how you act, how you get along with other people? Our brain is the organ of judgement, personality, character and innovation. When your brain works right, you work right. You're healthier, happier, wealthier, wiser, more creative, more innovative. When you brain is troubled, you are much more likely to have trouble in your life.

Our job is to balance brain activity to keep it at healthy levels. Even though the brain only makes up 2% of our body weight, it takes up to a third of the nutrients we put into our body, so one step is to ensure we eat and sleep right for a healthy brain. Another is to change the way we think - for example questioning automatic negative thoughts with positive connections. Negative thoughts that come into your mind automatically to ruin our day are the seeds of anxiety disorders and depression.

For example: a person who is constantly stressed, eats a poor diet, is surrounded by a toxic environment, spends little or no time meditating, has a negative or bleak outlook on life is more prone to sickness, will have an unhealthy lifestyle and is more likely to be in an unstable relationship. Our behaviour helps accelerate the ageing process.

A person who takes time to meditate, has a positive outlook and believes he or she can and will cope is more likely to be in better health, look younger and will have more positive fulfilling relationships. And the good news is, if you make the decision today, you can improve your brain within two months.

Consequently, to sum up, what we believe impact our lives, because what we believe is what we get.

I know some may not accept that, but here's what happens when you believe something: If you believe that relationships are difficult and require a lot of work, then you'll only attract people who will make the relationship difficult or force you to put a lot of work into it.

More importantly, if you worry about something, you basically believe the worst and you'll likely get the worst.

That doesn't happen all of the time and there is a reason for it not happening all of the time. Even though you worry, a small part of you is hopeful that you'll have a positive outcome and thus a complete disaster is often avoided. However, if you were to only worry and think of the worst at all times, never being hopeful, then you could be setting up yourself for a massive disaster.

But there is more to believing than just creating beliefs. Having positive beliefs is the first step toward creating a positive and successful life. Believing is something completely different.

Here's an example: You may have positive beliefs about money; you may have a belief that there are plenty of ways to make money. But if you don't believe that you will make money, you won't make the amount that you are hoping for.

A belief is the way you feel about something; it's deeply rooted and if I asked you a question about it you'd have an answer.

Believing something is trusting that what you want can and will happen. There is not a single doubt that it will happen. You completely trust and know that it will happen.

Many people I speak to are missing this element in their daily lives. They'll do all of the other work that is necessary to achieve their goals, but they can't get this element of believing into their system.

So, how do we begin believing so that we can create the life we want? How do you learn to believe in yourself and achieve your goals? You need to learn how to create a new belief system, so you can practice believing to always enjoy success and constantly create a more positive, healthy life.

How to change your beliefs

In many ways we've been raised to not believe. If you can't see it, it's not real, that's what we're taught. But believing is vital to our survival and success. If we could only believe that everything would work out and trust that what you want can and will happen, you'd have remarkable results. Your life would change in ways you never thought possible.

Click here to rewire your mindset for success!

However, we just can't believe that things will workout for us. We look at past results and judge our future on those results.

Let me ask you a few simple questions:

  • Do you believe, without a doubt, that you can and will have everything that you want in life?
  • Do you believe without a doubt that you will be guided to the right situation at the right time - no matter what you will get to where you want to be in life?
  • Do you believe, without a doubt, that there is always a way to achieve your goals - you just have to find it?

If you answered no or maybe to any of the above questions, then you don't believe, and therefore won't be able to accomplish your goals and live the life you want.

Believing requires a complete trust that everything will work out. That you will do your part in finding solutions while trusting and knowing that you can and will get what you want out of life.

Here's an example of believing that most of us can relate to on some level. If you have a child or if a friend or a relative has a newborn child, then think about that child for a moment. Think about the earliest time that you saw that child.

Remember when it couldn't even feed itself or make a sound. It had no motor coordination and didn't really recognize things very well. Now assuming this was a healthy child when it was at that stage, did you or its parent ever doubt that it would learn to walk?

The answer is no. Everybody was convinced; everybody believed that the child would learn to walk.

That's the kind of belief I'm talking about that's needed to achieve your goals. You have to believe that things will work out. Just trust in yourself, your inner powers and the powers that be that everything will work out.

My 90 day mind healing programme teaches you how to develop this practice of believing first by showing you how to work with your mind and subconscious mind. With your own tailor made affirmations you'll learn to take small steps and see some small improvements - this leads to practising the art of believing.

Commit yourself to change

Recently I had a chance to catch up with some people I hadn't seen in a really long time. Many of them had achieved what they set out to do when we were teenagers. But there were a few who were still struggling. They were trying to figure things out, but couldn't understand why things hadn't improved for them. I explained to them that things don't get better, you have to make them better. Nothing changes for you overnight except the passage of time, which has it's own side effects.

Creating change in your life is not just about hoping and praying, it's about acting and being committed. So read on and you'll learn some valuable tips on how to create changes in your life and start living the life you want.

If you want to improve your life, if you want to achieve your goals you first need to make a solid commitment to change or improve things.

Don't take this lightly, because your commitment is the foundation for change and a better life. Too often I hear people say: "Oh yeah, I'm going to make a commitment. I definitely want to change. In fact, as of tomorrow I'm going to make a list and get started."

Then tomorrow comes and nothing changes. Instead, they get distracted and forget about the so-called commitment they made.

A week later here's what they'll say: "You know I meant to get started last week but I just got too busy. Something came up, I can't remember what, but this week I'm definitely going to get started."

The week comes and goes and nothing changes. There were too many things that come up. Hey, everyday there are things that come up and if you don't stay focused those "things" will throw you off track, and in the end nothing gets done. Nothing improves because you were too busy being distracted. Nothing changes because you didn't stick to your commitment to change.

A commitment to improve your life means you are going to do everything you can to make sure things get better. It says that you are going to take action and start by focusing on what you need to do to create the changes you want. If you don't stick to that commitment you'll only get distracted. If you keep that commitment at the forefront of your mind, then when you sense something coming that could distract you, you'll take charge and make the time to create the change you want.

If you're in debt and you want to get out of it, then make a commitment, and start by not taking on any more debt. If you want to be in a relationship, then start by making it a priority to go out and meet people. If you want to get a job, then start going out and doing everything you can to get a job and keep going until you get things done.

Making that commitment sends the message to your subconscious mind, it tells the subconscious that now I'm ready to change and improve my life so let's get working.

When you use my 90 day mind healing programme you are actually making a commitment to yourself, a promise to make time for yourself and achieve your goals. By listening to your own affirmations daily, you'll focus on what you want and direct your mind to instruct your subconscious to create the life you want.

Decide what kind of change you really want

Next take a look at where you are and where you want to go. I often hear from people who want to be millionaires but don't have a job, there's nothing wrong with that. But in many cases these people want to be millionaires within 3 months or 6 months. Sure it's possible. And when I ask them to think of how they can achieve this goal, here's the most common answer: "I'll win the lottery." Yes, this too is possible.

But is it likely? What are you going up against? What can you do to make this a reality besides buy lottery tickets? The answer isn't in buying more lottery tickets.

The answer to being a millionaire and making millions of hard cash is inside you. You have the answer - you just have to uncover it.

We all have the ability to have what we want, need and more, if we allow ourselves to work at our full potential. When you work at your full potential - your mind, spirit and body are all working together to make the outcome happen.

Your subconscious also gets going, because it needs to keep up with the rest of you and it in turn your subconscious starts creating new opportunities for you. By going at your full potential you say to your higher power, your subconscious mind and the universe - hey, I'm ready to do my part!

But when you say: "I'll just buy more lottery tickets", you're really saying: "I'm too lazy to bother working." Why then should your higher power help you?

You have to give yourself a realistic chance. Look at it this way: you're about to run a marathon, but you've never trained to run in a marathon, and you've never trained to run more than a hundred yards. Now suddenly you want to run 20 or so miles, and you expect to win, but you've never trained. Is it likely? It is possible, but is it likely? Wouldn't you be better off training, getting in shape, then start by gradually building up the miles you run a day, until you got to the point where you were running 20 or so miles, before you entered the race?

If you want to be successful, you have to prepare and take things one step at a time while setting realistic goals that you can build on. If you want to be a millionaire and you currently don't have a job, start by getting a job or starting a business. or if you have a job and you want to be a millionaire, how about increasing your yearly income first? Then increase that, and continue increasing it until you get to a million.

If you want to get out of debt, then start by paying off a small amount of the debt, then increase the amount you pay off.

If you want to meet the right person, start by going out, then
getting to know people until you meet the person you think is right for you.

When you keep your goals realistic and take things one-step at a time, two things happen. First you start building your confidence, which is crucial to your success.

Second you start sending the message to your subconscious mind. You start telling your subconscious that you can do this, you say you are improving and you are ready for change and that you are giving your subconscious the time that it needs to help you get to where you want to go.

What you are doing is creating a success consciousness that is sent directly to your subconscious. It now starts to pick up your success belief system - and thus greater change takes place sooner.

So, when tailoring your affirmations to use with my 90 day mind healing programme remember to set realistic goals. I find that using gradual milestones, or small baby goals to get your subconscious working for you is more beneficial in the long run. Then you can slowly build on that success energy so that you continually accomplish your goals. When you do this to begin with, things begin to become easier, and pretty soon you'll find that you'll be achieving more with less effort, in half the time! But first you have to train your mind to work with your subconscious mind.

Get your mind to work for you

This last step is the most important because if you don't keep your mind focused on what you want to achieve, you'll never get anything done.

The mind will try to convince you to give up. It will tell you that there's no need to change, that things are fine just the way they are, or that you'll get to it tomorrow, next week or next year.

Your mind will tell you that you don't have time right now to do the things you need to do in order to create the change you want. It will tell you that it's no use things will never get better.

When the mind does this it's simply deceiving you - it's simply trying to get you to stop and avoid change. The mind does this, because it doesn't want change.

It wants things to stay the way they are, because of it's negative programming. But you want change, except your mind is not letting you change. If you don't stay focused you'll give in to the mind, and nothing ever gets better.

When you work to heal your mind with my programme, in 90 days you'll take control of your mind and direct it so that you achieve your goals. You essentially learn how to think and create the life you want. Your affirmations are your instruction book for the mind - with the help of my programme you'll control your mind and send the right messages to your subconscious mind so that you create the life you want.

Take a look at what you want to achieve in life. Think about those goals and then start paying attention to the thoughts you have as you think about achieving those goals.

Now ask yourself - what steps are you taking to create changes in your life? Come up with a realistic plan, and then start taking steps. See how your mind responds to this, because what you uncover could determine your chances for success.

To help you avoid problems, write down your negative thought patterns and negative beliefs, and see what you come up with. When you analyse your limiting, negative beliefs, you'll realise that to achieve success today, you need to release the past, or free your belief system from it so that you can view yourself and your past in a new light.

This is crucial to your success, because once you release the past (or change your perception of it) you open the floodgates for new and exciting opportunities. The negativity of the past will no longer have a limiting hold on you. Releasing the past takes a little work, but it will be well worth the rewards.

Releasing the past

Are you one of those people who sometimes gets trapped in the past? Do you catch yourself thinking about things over and over? Usually these are events that happened a long time ago, but you just can't stop thinking about them?

Do you often try to solve events that took place years ago - hoping or wishing they could be different? Do you sometimes spend hours or lengthy periods of time trying to understand why something happened, but just can't find an answer? Or do you find that you're just not ready to move on with life, because of something that happened some time ago? You keep telling yourself you just can't get over it, you need just a little more time, but this continues to play in your mind?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you're not alone. There are millions of people around the world just like you - people who just can't seem to let go of the past, and in the process continue to waste their lives away.

Well, in today's post I'm going to show you how you can release the past and start living the life you want, and it's really not as hard as you might imagine.

Over the past few months I've fielded hundreds of emails from people trying to let go of the past. It seems that we continually think about what was and the way things were. We also feel compelled to try and figure out what went wrong, or how we can resolve things.

The most common statement is: "If only I could go back and fix things." Well you can't, and you shouldn't want to. Because when you focus on nothing but the past, you deny yourself the future.

Read on and I'll explain how you can let go of the past, and start living the life you want.

By focusing on what you want in life, by focusing on what's important right now with my mind healing programme, you can release the past. Choosing to go back in time is not an option, the only option you have is to go forward - one step at a time.

How to let go of the past

In order to begin moving on and letting go of the past you first have to take responsibility for what happened. I'm not asking you to accept the blame. I'm just asking you to accept that (after a certain age in your life) you had a role in what happened to you and that what happened did in fact happen.

For example, if you seem stuck over a breakup with a boyfriend or girlfriend, accept that the relationship did come to an end, and that you did have a role in how it went and how it ended. Let's face it, if you weren't there it would have never happened.

Don't try to figure out what you did wrong in the past, instead focus on what you could do right the next time. Learn from your past, it's a great teacher.

Look at the mistakes that were and focus on what you can do to improve it the next time around. If you lost a job, don't say that you did nothing wrong. Don't blame everybody else and say, "They did this to me." They didn't do anything to you. They may have done something that had an impact on you, but you also played a role on some level.

Focus on what you can do the next time to keep a job and make a great impression.

Right about now I get this question: "Yeah, Mickie, but they just called me in one day and told me that I was going to be laid off - they were cutting back. What role did I play? How did I make that happen?"

You chose to stay at that job. You chose to get comfortable and not look for another job. You chose not to improve your skills and strive to do better. These are acts that you have to take responsibility for. Please understand, I'm not saying accept blame. This is about blame, or fault (or shifting blame), it's about remembering that you are the navigator of your life.

Now the next time you get a good job you could strive to be better. You won't get comfortable. You won't ignore an opportunity to improve your skills. These are some of the lessons that come from that experience. Or may be losing your job will open a great new opportunity for an even better job.

Every past event, pleasant or not, teaches us something which if we understand can better prepare us for the future. Don't focus on what went wrong, focus on what you can do right the next time. The best way to do this is to think about what you want next and then apply what you learned.

With your positive affirmations and my mind healing healing programme, focus on what you want by visualising the life you want, and not the life you once had.

Create your future today

Let's face it, the past is in the past. It's not what is happening now. It doesn't exist today except in your mind. That relationship that ended, that job that was lost - it's all in the past. The past does not exist today. You exist today, and your present life exists today. These are the things you need to focus on.

In order to leave the past in the past, start shifting your focus to the things that need attention today.

If you lost a job and don't have work, focus on finding a new job. Remember the lessons learned from the past experience, and get out there and start looking for the next thing.

Take care of what needs to be done today. If you're in debt because you lost some money in the past, then focus on what needs to be done now, for example, to make some additional money so you can get out of debt.

If a relationship ended, then what do you want now? If the answer to that is another relationship, then get out there and start meeting new people.

I'm not trying to be harsh, I just want to show you that once you shift your focus to the present moment, your mind will automatically let go of the past.

There will be times that your mind will drift back into the past, that's what it knows so that's where it goes. When this happens you can simply say to yourself, that's in the past - I'm here now and I'm focusing on my new life now.

You won't stop thinking about the past right away, but as you continually do this, your mind will begin to adjust.

When you do it in conjunction with some of the things that I just outlined, you'll start to move forward and actually enjoy life again.

I often have people that email me to say: "Mickie, I just can't seem to let go of the past. I keep thinking about it and just can't stop." You only think about it, because you choose not to think about something else. You only think about it, because your mind is used to thinking about it and wants to stick to what it knows. Teach your mind something new and it will move forward.

Leave your mind where it is and it will cling to what it knows. So give your mind something else to focus on, like the present moment, and visualise the future and you'll see yourself moving forward.

The mind takes you in the past, tortures you, frightens you, and depresses you, because that's what it knows, and that's what it identifies with - the mind is comfortable in that zone.

The mind doesn't want to stay in the present moment, because it is not aware of the present.

Only you can make it aware of the present, by focusing on what is important now.

Do this when you wake up in the morning, focus on what has to be done that day. Using my mind healing programme as a way to start the day will help you get your mind to move forward.

With my mind healing programme, within the first week you'll start to move forward and focus on what is important, because daily repeated positive affirmations will get you to think about what you want now, and what you want next.

Bounce back with affirmations.

It gets your mind to move in a different direction, away from the past, into the present and preparing for the future. If you're stuck in the past, I encourage you to use my mind healing programme and begin living the life you want and deserve.

Some final steps

Another thing you can do is change the way you see past events. Find a positive spin rather than focusing on the negative. You may say but that's just the way it is, am I not lying to myself if I try to see it differently? How do you know you're not lying to yourself by seeing things the way you do right now?

Your current perception may be to view the events of the past in a negative light, but how do you know that is real? It's just the way you see it. The meaning you attach to things gives them the weight that drags you down.

Change the way you see things, change your perception and a new reality unfolds. Look at the positive side of things: everything has happened to put you where you are now. You are exactly where you need to be, and you got here because of past events.

Now begin focusing on this moment, focus on what you want, and you'll take the next step - to be exactly where you need to be in the future.

Learn from the past, then release it, by focusing on the present, and see the past as a friend - pushing you forward to where you need to go.

Begin letting go of the past and create the future you want and dream of, by working with my mind healing programme.

Remember to take a look at what you want to achieve in life. As I said before, think about those goals and then start paying attention to the thoughts you have as you think about achieving those goals. And once you've written down your negative thought patterns, negative beliefs and seen what you've come up with, ask yourself - what steps are you taking to create changes in your life?

Don't forget to come up with a realistic plan, and then start taking steps - see how your mind responds to this. If you find yourself focusing on the past, then see if you can get your mind to move forward by focusing on what is important today. What you uncover could determine your chances for success.

So, are you ready to begin living the life you always wanted? Ready to enjoy success, happiness and more? Ready to be more confident? Then use my mind healing programme and begin achieving all your goals.

Keep moving towards your goals and keep believing in yourself - only you can create the life you want. Keep in mind, if you don't change your thoughts and beliefs, everything stays the same. Heal your mind from past limiting beliefs to take back control of your life.

Start living your life to your full potential today.

Yours in love,

In order to succeed, whether this be in love or work, we often need to try new things. Venture outside your comfort zone to find the answers you need. Seek opportunity, not security. We can only find love if we have the courage to put ourselves out there to go out and love someone.

Naturally, this is sometimes easier said than done! In many ways we want to change, but our mind doesn't want to get out of its comfort zone. It will tell you put things off until an undefined tomorrow. The mind will come up with all kinds of excuses to convince you not to change or improve your life.

Your mind does this because it is simply used to things the way they are. It doesn't want to change because it's comfortable where it is and in many ways - in a sense your mind is happy in its misery. But you're not - and the only way things are going to get better is for you to start taking control of your mind and directing your subconscious to create the situations you want in life.

This will only happen when you train your mind - and my 90 day mind healing programme helps you to achieve thus - it's the complete course that shows you how to direct your mind to work with your subconscious mind.

A lot of people will feel that they just don't have time to take on a new programme, even if it's only 5 or 20 minutes a day. But how important is your life to you? How important is it to be happy, successful and enjoying life? Are you willing to spend 5 or 20 minutes a day so that you achieve your goals?

If you said no - then you're saying you're not worth 5 or 20 minutes. And if you think you're not worth it, why should anybody else try to help you or give you their time? What you think of yourself is what others will inevitably think of you. Get people working for you, start achieving your goals, make time for yourself. Get yourself motivated. What are your driving forces?

Click here to rewire your mindset for success!

Regular reader Sarah Jones emailed me the other day to ask, "Mickie, when you feel your levels of motivation drop, how do you get yourself back on track?"

It's a great question, and in my answer I told her that it was my daily gratitude and achievement habit that kept me on track and motivated to take action every day.

That's one way to change your life. But for those struggling with motivation, I want to share the inspirational life of psychologist William James with you today, as an example of how to overcome lifestyle stagnation.

Fully engage with life

Life begins at the end of your comfort zoneJames (1842-1910) was an author, philosopher, scientist, Harvard professor and giant in American intellectual history. His works were the acknowledged inspiration for the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous, one of the world's most effective treatment programs.

Although his name is not widely recognized outside academia today, James made major contributions to psychology, philosophy, literature, teaching and religious studies. He coined numerous words and phrases including pluralism, time-line, stream of consciousness, live option and moral equivalent of war. Historian Jacques Barzun writes that James' book Principles of Psychology is:

...an American masterpiece which, quite like Moby Dick, ought to be read from beginning to end at least once by every person professing to be educated. It a masterpiece in the classic and total sense.

What do so many find inspiring about James? In part, it was his life itself, his legendary zest for living. James loved to travel, hike and mountain-climb. He served as a naturalist and accompanied Louis Agassiz on his expedition to explore the upper reaches of the Amazon. He churned out articles, books and hundreds of public lectures while carrying a full teaching load at Harvard. When he died from heart failure in his late 60s, his contemporaries said he had literally worn himself out.

Despite James' many accomplishments, his life was not without its setbacks. He suffered from ailments of the eyes, skin, stomach and back. He was diagnosed with neurasthenia and depression. He contracted smallpox in Brazil. Three siblings, including novelist Henry James and diarist Alice James, were afflicted with invalidism. His beloved sister Alice died of breast cancer at 44.

However, James believed that we are meant to spend our lives being curious, active, and fully engaged.

He was also one of the first to try to reconcile science and religion. In particular, he was interested in human spiritual experience, a realm that is difficult to capture by logic or observation, and nearly impossible to nail down scientifically.

Yet he found a way. James is the father of the distinctly American philosophy known as Pragmatism, the doctrine that truth reveals itself in practice, regardless of its origins. Something is true if it doesn't contradict known facts and it works.

James thought a belief should be judged by its results. He was more interested in the fruits of an idea than its roots and advised people to look for a truth's "cash value", arguing that a belief is true if it allows you to live a fuller, richer life.

He was particularly interested in showing men and women how to convert misery and unhappiness into growth. As you can see from some of his remarks, the approach is nothing if not pragmatic:

  • Lives based on having are less free than lives based on being.
  • Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune.
  • If you believe that feeling bad or worrying long enough will change a past or future event, then you are residing on another planet with a different reality system.
  • Great emergencies and crises show us how much greater our vital resources are than we had supposed.
  • Compared with what we ought to be, we are half awake.
  • Action may not bring happiness but there is no happiness without action.
  • Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.
  • Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
  • Begin to be now what you will be hereafter.

James taught that we can change our lives by altering our attitudes of mind. He called pessimism "a disease" and said it could be cured by substitution. You can change, for example, "I have to exercise today" to "I get to exercise today." "I get to visit my grandmother" can be substituted for "I have to visit my grandmother." The shift is a subtle one, but powerful.

The essence of a belief is the establishment of a habit, a willingness to act. That begins with a change of mind. The best motivation is always an inspiriting attitude.

As a pioneering psychologist, James' primary interest was how the mind can bring about life-changing effects. Yes, we can always grouse about circumstances. But it is not what fate does to us that matters. What matters is what we do with what fate hands us.

"All that the human heart wants," declared James, "is its chance."

Turning losses into gains

Everywhere you look there are lessons. Every day you can turn these lessons into continuous improvement in your life. Problems can be overcome by taking bold, courageous, individual action. That is the choice we have.

The only race you have to win is the race against yourself. There will always be someone faster and stronger but there never be another you, so look within and push your own personal boundaries.

Sometimes it's difficult to muster up the positive mental attitude to see opportunity in a bad situation. Things get so out of hand that it's easy to become discouraged to the point of feeling despair. Those are the times when your mettle and sinew are really put to the test - sometimes very long tests.

The longest tests usually come in the form of mass oppression. To the shame of the human race, history's list of brutal oppressions is a very long one. From the American slave trade to apartheid in South Africa, oppression has been an integral part of human history.

But there's also an interesting twist to oppression. In virtually all cases, the oppressed eventually escape or overthrow their oppressors and, quite often, begin life anew on a higher plane than before their oppression began.

How this phenomenon occurs is summed up in the words of English poet Francis Quarles. In his description of the concept of compensation, he opined that "there is no worldly loss without some gain."

Which is to say that every adversity brings with it an equivalent or greater opportunity for success. We see this in a macro fashion in the rise of previously oppressed peoples, such as American and South African blacks - with them rising all the way to the top seats of political power.

And, of late, we watch in awe as India continues its incredible rise to the top of the economic ladder. For nearly two centuries (1757-1947), the British had that vast Land of Enchantment by its political and economic throat. And, for the most part, Indians were loyal, well-behaved subjects.

There is no question that the British devoured India's vast wealth and kept its citizenry in check for nearly two hundred years. But, to its credit, when Britain finally threw in its colonial towel in 1947, Indians took over a country with a ready-made, highly educated workforce.

The British also left India with a language that made it easy for them to communicate with the rest of the industrialized world, a democratic form of government that protected both individual liberties and private property, and a reasonably modern infrastructure.

Given its pro-Western lifestyle and the fact that English is now the official language of the country, it would not surprise me if India became the world's number-one economic power in the next fifty years, surpassing both China and the U.S. in the process.

However, this does not mean that oppression is a good thing, even though good has come out of it. In the above examples, the one big problem is that the opportunities available to later generations do not do their oppressed ancestors any good at all. Since you have only one life to live, it would not have been a good thing if, for example, you had been born in the Soviet Union in 1918, lived there all your life, and died before the communist dictatorship collapsed in the late eighties. It's nice for your descendents to get a start on your shoulders, but it's even nicer if you can get a start on your own shoulders.

In the case of mass enslavements - such as that of the citizens of the old Soviet Union, and American blacks in the pre-Civil War South - an individual could not take much action against his bondage without being tortured or killed. But that's not the case on a micro level, because today any individual in a Western country can still take action on his or her own, at any time, without anyone's permission. His or her only constraints are those that he or she places on him/herself.

Some people, for example, feel oppressed by their jobs. An acquaintance of my mother, well into her fifties, recently told me that even though she became financially secure by working for big corporations all her life, she regretted not having left the corporate world and going out on her own. She lamented that no matter how much money she made, she always felt like a highly paid slave.

It wasn't the first time I had heard such a complaint. But, guess what? Every person who has made that complaint had a choice. Golden handcuffs in the corporate world are not locked. You can always slip them off. All that is required is belief, determination, and action.

And that's true of any other area of life where you feel oppressed – even enslaved. Whatever the source of your bondage - job, peer pressure, unpleasant domestic circumstances, etc. - recognize that it is not a macro problem over which you have no control.

On the contrary, you have the power to escape at any time. The only question is, do you have the courage to utilize that power and transform it into action? You can make all the excuses in the world as to why the time isn't quite right to make your move, but that's all they will be - excuses.

Throughout history, oppressed peoples would have loved to have been in a position to escape their bondage overnight simply by taking individual action. But, sadly, they could not. In most cases, it took small actions by many generations - over a long period of time - to bring about an escape.

Isn't it nice to know that you don't have that problem? In a vacuum, your problems may seem big to you, but, in the overall scheme of things, they are micro in nature. And micro problems can be overcome by taking bold, courageous, individual action. Remember, the only constraints are those that you place on yourself.

The problem with problems is they get bigger and worse as time goes on, leading to bigger headaches than if you'd tackled it now. Attack that problem head on. Solve that problem today.

We all know life isn't fair, but we should look on the bright side of things. Keep your head up! It's easy to get down on yourself, but don't let a bad day or mean person get you down. Learn from your mistakes and stay motivated by focusing on your long-term vision.

What do you mean, life isn't fair?

Today, kids are often brought up to avoid any exposure to "bad" things like "failure" or "disappointment". At school, if you bring a Valentine, you must bring one for the entire class. If you pass out invitations at school, you need to invite everyone.

While I admire the fact that no one wants to disappoint a child (I don't either), unfortunately this doesn't prepare them very well for real life as an adult. Because (as we all heard our parents tell us when we were little), life isn't fair. And that's the truth.

Believe me, I really wish it were! I wish that everyone in the world had enough to eat, all of the time, and that no one was ever disappointed or scared or sick or sad. I truly wish that with all of my heart.

But unfortunately, that's not the way the world works at this moment in time. I am of the belief that the world we live in rewards hard work and perseverance, followed by more hard work and more perseverance, and if you really want to stack the deck in your favour, you need to throw in a little planning and strategy along the way. That is the path to success, and of course it's what we all want for our children. Because that is how the real world works.

So what sorts of strategy can we utilise for success in life, love and everything? Read on:

  1. Cultivate an abundance mentality. It is a big, wide, wonderful world out there filled with more than enough partners, money and resources for everyone! Knowing in your heart that this is true and that the world is filled with abundance and value gives you the confidence you need to embark on a quest where you don't necessarily know what the outcome will be, but it gives you the courage to put yourself out there.
  2. You need strategy to stack the deck in your favour. Of course we all know about some of the best laid plans - especially in love! But this is more about employing a strategy to follow your own path and not just run around behind all of your friends and acquaintances. Don't simply "do what everyone else is doing". The more you learn about yourself, the more you stack the deck in your favour and the more likely you are to succeed. Those who succeed in life simply have better strategies than those who struggle.
  3. Improve yourself. Even in love (and especially in the workplace) it is true that the better you are, the more likely you are to be successful. Inquisitiveness is a basic human instinct and it's a good one. You should work on improving yourself, because believe me, information is power. Life isn't fair as much as we might wish it to be, and right behind having a great strategy comes having the best information. The better your information, the better your chances are of success.

For work that means constantly strive to improve your work skills, if you're single, get a hobby, focus on a positive lifestyle to attract like minded individuals.

In closing, life isn't "fair", although we of course would like it to be, and we try to make it as fair as possible for ourselves and for our children. But you need to do all that you can legally and honestly do to stack the odds in your favour.

In general, you want to play where you have the advantage, not when the deck is stacked against you, but a final word about the playing field of love: It also means to play fairly, play by the rules, and stay within bounds at all times. Cheaters don't make good lovers, and don't forget truth is the real currency of love. It's with such trust that in love a victory comes when we surrender to it.

So, here's to you living a successful, loving, winner-take-all lifestyle. Go on out there and stack the deck in your favour with love, and you'll discover that love is in your favour.

Yours in love,

“The power of the universe lies in the power of the brain.”
— Mickie Kent

Life is a process, and it's problems can give you immense wisdom. Many of our biggest problems will give us our greatest gifts, we just need the courage to search for the silver lining in the dark clouds that cross our horizons.

It takes a long journey, involving many personal trials, before you find the secret to true joy in life, but if your internal GPS system - your mind - is in tune with your passions, you can get on route that much quicker. Trusting and allowing your highly tuned intuition to guide you is an amazing aid for you in transforming your life.

Do we feel ourselves deserving of a successful life? If we realise that being successful in life is actually our destiny, and being successful means aligning ourselves with the purpose the universe has for us, we come some way to understanding that we ALL deserve the chance to fulfil the potential we were born with.

Most of us don't have that added bonus of working in sync with ourselves to achieve our goals. Have you ever felt like your inner feelings are holding you back? The issue could be one of what some experts have termed deservability.

Inherently we all have a guiding system, and if you listen to that you will know what your next lesson will be. Trust the process, trust yourself. Trust the process of life as a school. Trust yourself as a good student. The sum of your experiences from the challenges you gave already faced will be your ship to steer you out from troubled waters in the future.

You have to learn how to navigate the waters of life. You have to take the weather into consideration, what navigation equipment you have, what are your resources and finances - to help you serve your purpose in life, whether that be helping people or whatever that they may be.

It requires you to see with brand new vision, to listen with brand new hearing, and to follow your heart not blindly, but consciously. Following the negativity of others will only aid to violate your own internal integrity, and that won't help you transform your life. Self-belief is important, because you must first create/visualise the reality you want in your mind, so the universe can work for you and make it your reality in the physical world.

The system of everything

Experts believe the entire universe is a system. There is a logical system for everything. All things are processes. Working on the process instead of the outcome is key to success. When you discover the system of an area of life, you become enlightened to the way things work in that area. Everything in life has a formula. There is a formula for wealth, health, relationship, self growth, enjoyment and spirituality. When you discover the formula in any area, you can achieve success in that area.

Adherents to the theory that we create our own reality believe that what separates the champion from other winners is his or her dedication to perfection. A clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels at winning with ease. His victories bring him neither reputation for wisdom nor credit for courage, because he wins as though there wasn't any fight in the first place. A champion looks to see if he achieved what he wanted in the most efficient and effective manner. The greatest successes are not studied, and that is why most people tend to follow the lesser ways of winning.

If this knowledge was at your fingertips, you could easily become wealthy or even famous. You could easily be a ground-breaking author, teacher, visionary, inventor, royal advisor, and other things. Dozens of new opportunities open up to you because your entire context of knowledge is highly advanced. Your chances of success are multiplied thousands of times over because the power lies within you.

Having knowledge that is ahead of its time is like having knowledge from the future. It is alien - unknown to most people today. Imagine how radically different your life will be with knowledge beyond even the smartest and wisest people of today's society. Like someone from the future, you will see things differently than everyone else. You'll understand things that others cannot explain.

Experts believe that the secret formulas of wealth, health, success, love, happiness and anything else that you want to achieve lies in your very mind. They suggest that when you have knowledge about the higher level and the lower level of reality, you are free to move within and beyond the system.

Instead of creating all kinds of problems and trapping yourself in all sorts of illusions, you can play in whatever area you wish to play and win beyond the usual standards of winning. There is a gleeful kind of feeling you experience when you are enlightened about the world and how you can totally own it.

The quickest path to getting everything you want in life is by finding information that explains how the universe works. Wisdom means solving problems at the roots. It is dealing with causes instead of effects. Lots of people go for lesser solutions in this world to deal with problems.

You can enjoy abundance, perfect health and great happiness in life without going for all those lesser solutions in life. The greatest solution in life is knowledge of how reality works. When you look at reality from a perspective of consciousness and reality creation, you will be able to attain everything you want in the best way.

There are better ways of looking at things. There are better ways of thinking and doing things. The better way of looking at things is to always frame things in a way that is empowering to you. For every success that you see, there is always someone who has achieved more of it in a shorter time and in an easier way. Always choose the better way of things. If you want the best, go straight for the core and the essence. When you do that, your mind, being and actions will be the best.

Look at the bigger picture. There are different levels of wisdom. A wise man can appear foolish when compared with an even wiser man, but seek to learn from all.

Complete truth is the integration of all truth. When you experience conflict of reason, intelligence and wisdom, realise that there are better ways of seeing things. Conflicting truths can exist in harmony when they are viewed as existing on different levels. An enlightened consciousness is inclusive and not exclusive. The more enlightened one is, the more truth about reality they're able to perceive.

To utilise the power of your mind, you need to get to the core and essence of knowledge, integrating it and refining it into better and more simple forms - into a single image of clarity that you can visualise every day.

If you've ever wondered if there's any proof that visualisation really does work, then the wondering and the questioning stops right now. I'm going to share some of the nitty-gritty of what components are needed to achieve the highest level of success with visualisation. Plus, I will share with you exactly what the experts say how universal energy works on your behalf to deliver your deepest desires into your life.

Open your mind to its power

Love gives us trust and confidence, but where does it reside, in the heart or the brain? The adherents to this believe that this is a convergence of science and spirituality, where it has been scientifically measured in studies that it is the repetitiveness of visualisation, with the associated emotion that works.

It's like words. On their own, they don't really work, unless there's meaning and emotion behind it - even love is just a word until you find someone that gives it meaning. Without that meaning and emotion, love as a word holds no power. But when they do, words are like bombs.

If it's true from a visualisation perspective that we use the majority of our brain for visual processing, then it also follows that if we want to ingrain an image into our brain, emotionalising it creates an association with the vision. Repeating it will create a neural network, or a software programme of that image.

Creating a software of that image with emotion behind it means we are firing off neurons, the braincells, in the same sequence over and over again - and as we visualise we reduce the threshold of those neurons firing. That's a scientific way of saying the more we do something, the easier it becomes for us to do. And the easier it is for us to do, the more your brain will do it, because it becomes addicted to the emotion of that repetition. It in effect, it will become second nature to you.

So the formula is:

Visualisation + emotion x repetition = manifestation

So, how do experts say the universe conforms to put you into a state of your manifestations, even though you might have no experience of initially what it is like (or to go about) being wealthy, for example?

It's believed that the process highlights our dealings with a highly intelligent, self-aware universe. If you think about the orbits of the planets around the Sun, the relationship between protons, electrons and quarks, everything seems to be working in an order and harmony at a molecular level that we are only on the rim of understanding. We search for answers to the questions about the very fabric of space, with theories attempting to unify the fundamental forces in nature, but we still know very little.

However, manifestation experts say that we live in an intelligent universe that responds to our emotional states, and will move to match and respond to that emotion. If we feel this is all we deserve in life, then that's all the universe will provide for you. Adherents to this believe there are no accidents or coincidences in the incidences that make up our live.

All we see in this physical world of ours is a reflection of what's happening in the brain. The importance of the brain can't be emphasised enough. The human brain is one of the most complex systems in the universe. If you stretched out all of its electrical wiring it would extend from the Earth to the Moon.

To unscramble the brain's tangled web, imagine the brain like a big city. Cities are examples of complex systems with thousands of inhabitants and their social interactions and flow of materials. The brain is like that, millions of neurons, the interactions between these neurons - in a sense the brain is like a city of the mind.

Figuring out how we get from cells and wires to thoughts and memories is one of the greatest challenges known to science. Even though humans have been studying the brain for decades - perhaps centuries - we still don't have a complete map of how its connected or how regions of the brain are connected to one another.

Studies show some regions are more connected than others, and some are perhaps more essential to the brain as whole. Scientists have called these important regions of the brain hubs - focal points of information traffic - like intersections of a large city that helps the traffic flow get through. These hubs are thought to be so essential that and if they become disrupted in any way, then the whole city shuts down. It is this ebb and flow and magnitude of information that scientists believe sets them apart from other regions of the brain.

It's said that if we can work out the brain's architecture, we can figure out what truly makes us who we are. Imagine if we could find a way to upload our brains, digitise the very essence of ourselves so that our minds could go on living long after our flesh had died, that would be a kind of immortality, but it could change the very nature of what it is to be human. In such a scenario would we lose what it is to be human? Poets say the essence of us is in the heart, but scientists say it is in the brain - and if that endures we can endure for eternity.

And in which region does our personality reside to make us who we are? Searching where awareness and conciousness resides in the brain is the holy grail of neuroscience. Some scientists believe the medial parietal cortex (located between the brain's two hemispheres) is the hub or part of the brain which houses the essence of who we are.

The riddle of consciousness has fascinated scientists, especially those looking to lengthen our time span or create a sort of immortality. They believe that discovering the place where our consciousness resides in the brain might reveal the answer to whether one day scientists will find a way for us to download the essence of who we are onto a machine after the body dies.

Professor Stephen Hawking seems to agree with this view. He has said: "I think the brain is like a program in the mind, which is like a computer. So it's theoretically possible to copy the brain on to a computer and so provide a form of life after death." However, imagine all the things that happen in the real world which could not happen in a computer, and which is somehow the essence of what life is all about: for example the conversations we have and all the speech sounds and gestures they produce. Our brains interacting in this embodied manner has many other scientists dubious about claims of downloading conciousness to a hard drive. They believe the brain might be too complex to immortalised in this way.

Some believe it may not be beyond the power of the brain (via future mind technologies) to utilise the technique of extra sensory perception (ESP) to pinpoint crime and ferret out criminals, and that if this could be used on a broad and practical scale it may become a deterrent to anyone contemplating a criminal act. A few decades ago this was taken seriously, with some discussing how the role of a psychic detective could have major consequences for law enforcement in America.

Obviously no force in the world is going to be putting psychics at the heart of their strategy, but there is still growing interest in the idea of mapping future crime trends and even predicting which individuals could become a problem. However, the notion that criminality is innate in people is a worrisome one, with others driving the idea that technology can help cut crime rates via more practical avenues, by designing unstealable objects for example.

When looked at under the microscope of philosophy and science, life looks very complicated to us and indeed it looks like a miracle there is life around us. However, in fact a few simple rules can give rise to complex patterns, which become so complex they give rise to intelligent sentient life. The brain's processing power in this way gives us life - our brain is a million times faster than any computer still around today.

Complex life began from a few simple laws. Some experts give the example of chess, which is a very complex game but governed by a few simple rules. You could say the same about life - even though we have one or two rules, we still get a multitude of different possible behaviours in the universe. Life on this Earth, experts point out, has had 4 billion years to evolve, we are the latest in the long line of species (and we hope or believe we're the last) - but who's to say that artificial intelligent (AI) life (or hybrid AI/human life - think RoboCop) isn't next to appear down the line? Simple artificial intelligence programmes already exist - bots (short for robots) write and edit Wikipedia entries continuously.

Does Destiny play chess?

However, as the latest technologies are fast becoming part of the staple diet of daily life, we sometimes forget that computers and robots - no matter how advanced - are simply adding machines. That doesn't mean they have creativity, imagination, initiative. It doesn't mean they understand human values or they can make leaps of logic like we can. We still have a long way to go to approximate the real thinking process that works in a human being. There isn't a technology yet invented that is a substitute for human beings talking to human beings and finding common solutions.

And even if the science was available to merge our conciousness from our brain to a computer, some argue there are moral and philosophical questions to answer. How do you slowly bring a person to be a robot? How do you actually take humanity out of someone and how do you programme a brain, and how does that affect an individual turned into (the ideals of the) machine? How does a hybrid robot rediscover its humanity? Will AI have emotions? Or fall in love?

As well as keeping us alive, there is some scientific evidence that suggests the seat of emotion is the human brain, rather than the human heart. For centuries poets have told us that love resides not in the brain, but in the heart, which has reason of which reason knows nothing. But is this a misconception linked right back to Aristotle and beyond, which has survived into our times? Or does the heart and mind work together in a complex partnership?

Is the heart like a brain?

Although there is science that says the heart has a brain of its own that tells the brain what to do, major scientific belief states that the brain is the hub of emotions, of sexual desires and their energies, and that people fall in love (and in lust) with their brain and not their heart. In effect our brains are our biggest sex organs.

Even though the heart has become a legend in literature when we talk about love, science suggests that the real place this activity takes place is in the brain. When someone upsets us, we say they have broken our heart, but what they have done in reality is broken our brain.

Brainpower is more than just intelligence

There are many researchers who believe that an imbalance in serotonin levels may influence mood in a way that leads to depression. Although the relationship between serotonin and happiness remains unclear, this monoamine neurotransmitter - which helps relay signals from one area of the brain to another - is also believed to be influential on our emotions and the "unbearable pain" we feel when things go bad in love - or in the absence of true love.

Experts claim that individuals who feel emotions more "deeply" - especially heartbreak, or more correctly, "mindbreak" - are susceptible to depression. Consequently, it's thought that antidepressants may actually help soothe the emotions connected with what we've traditionally labelled as heartache to help increase the secretion of serotonin in the brain. In line with this, some say that transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) - a non-invasive method to cause depolarisation or hyper-polarisation in the neurons of the brain - might also be beneficial for the chemical imbalances caused by those "pangs of love".

In addition, science says it's not only our brains that break, but its ability to regulate the body, too. It's thought that the effect on the body's organs of adrenaline and noradrenaline - catecholamines that play major roles in regulation of the "inner world" of the body by the brain - are responsible for the physical effects we feel when in love. So it's not just our mood that changes, we go through physical changes, as well. Growth of the eye pupils, sweating, the acceleration of stomach secretions, stomach cramps, hand tremors, changes in voice tone and heart rate acceleration are all said to be due to these neuroamines of the brain.

And do you remember what new love feels like? How your eyes feel as though they've been blown wide open, and you've never truly seen the world before? All those sleepless nights? Well scientists believe the enthusiasm we feel on the threshold of a new romance is thanks to dopamine - a simple organic chemical in the catecholamine family.

Dopamine is a monoamine neurotransmitter that plays a number of important physiological roles in our bodies and which is said to give love its addictive nature. It's believed that dopamine, just as much as serotonin, has a part to play in the (up and down) feelings of love we experience - normally connected to a rise in energy, concentration and joy levels.

Dopamine therefore, as a result of this increase in enthusiasm, will give people on the verge of a new love a few sleepless nights. They will see things in a new light. The sunrise, the rain, snowfall will all take on a new meaning. They'll be positive like they've never been before.

These dopamine receptors are considered so important, that some scientists say they play a large role in male-female relationships. For example, a disruption of the dopamine1 (D1) receptor could be the reason why a man (or woman) fails to remain faithful in a relationship, suggesting that unfaithfulness is a "disease of the brain". It seems that for a happy, trusting, stable (and monogamous) family life having the brain's D1 receptors working properly is paramount.

Moreover, there is evidence to suggest that feelings become easier to control as we age. Some scientists suggest our "love hormones" are most balanced during middle age, which indicates that ties formed at this stage of our lives could be longer-lasting. As the brain's secretion of hormones begins to change with serotonin, dopamine and other catecholamines achieving an equilibrium, the irresponsible ways of stormy youth make way for the more sane, grounded behaviour of advanced age.

D1 (and D2) receptors that regulate loyalty and commitment balance out, and we no longer feel the need to sow our wild oats. Unlike the effect of hormones secreted by the brain as a teenager, emotions become more logical and controlled. We are at the upper level of understanding the views of the opposite sex, being together, the intensity of emotions, our bodily functions and brain capacity.

If we follow the science, therefore, it suggests a strong relationship between the power of emotion, and the chemical balances in the brain, indicating the importance of the visualisation with emotion.

Understanding the systems in our bodies and in the universe ultimately helps us use the system for success in our lives, because the science says that the power of the universe lies in the hub of our brains.

Control your brainpower

Once you understand how powerfully important your brain is, knowing that YOU can programme this reality-manifesting computer to align you with your desires is an a-ha moment. The clarity of it hits you like a ton of bricks.

Control your mind, and you get control of the system.

Armed with the science and this knowledge, let's look at that visualisation formula again.

Visualisation (of your desires) + emotion x repetition = manifestation (of your desires)

To make visualisation work for you, there are five key components to note.

  1. Be very clear about what it is you want, and don't want. For instance you visualise the perfect man/woman for you, but make sure you visualise your perfect partner is single and available as well!
  2. Write them out and arrange them into positive present tense affirmations. The language that you use and the affirmations that you write are very important. Two of the most powerful words in the English language is "I am" - it gives you ownership over your visualisations. Use these two words with your affirmations. Attach emotion to them by using descriptive terms such as "loving", e.g., "I am a loving person and I deserve my true love." It is also important for them to be in the present tense. Don't visualise yourself with your heart's desire in the future, imagine yourself having what you desire NOW.

    Bounce back with affirmations.

  3. Use images to visualise your success. If you're not a visual person it can be hard to visualise the things you want, especially if they've never been in you're experience or you've never actually seen those things in life. So you can use an image you actually have in front of you, to look at it while listening to your affirmations. Use the sense of smell and touch, too. Ladies if you want a man smelling of musk, then bring that scent into your visualisations! It actually gives your brain somewhere to start. It gives you a great starting point for the next level, which is:
  4. Use positive music. This can be listening to music that takes you back to a time when you where carefree, happy and invokes positive emotions, or music specially composed to uplift you. The music you choose while listening to your affirmations is important. Make sure it is upbeat, and if they have lyrics that they are positive. Soothing music similar to meditation gets your brain into a "wave" that is conducive to learning. In effect, all four steps are getting your brain into an conducive state to be reprogrammed for success.

    Read about brainwaves here.

  5. Repetition is key. It's important to focus on your goals every day because that kicks in your reticular activating system (RAS). Once you regularly do steps 1-4, this fifth component involving the RAS - which is basically a bundle of tightly knit nerves at the mid core of the brain stem that has many functions in the body - will start to work to specifically to let through information to your concious mind that is of particular interest to you. As the subconscious is inundated daily with information, the RAS decides what should come through to the conscious mind, and by doing all 4 steps, you are programming your subconscious mind to the things which interest to you. The RAS tells your subconscious mind when anything comes up about your goals to get you to recognise the people, resources and opportunities that will help your goals become a reality. Doing it regularly will activate your RAS, which in turn will make you more aware and allow into your concious mind the opportunities as they arise, so that you recognise the people, resources and opportunities as they are presented to you by the universe for your success.

Carrying out steps 1-4 on a regular basis will result in the universe stepping in and presenting the people, resources and opportunity necessary to help you create and make your desires into reality. With these 4 steps you have the perfect formula to create any of your desires into becoming a part of your reality, with the power of your brain.

Like with anything, if you know how to work the system, it will work for you, and not against you.

Ever wished you could go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow with absolutely no baggage? Nothing weighing you down, nothing holding you back, and no negative thoughts entering your mind? It'd be a relief right?

Well, today is a new beginning. Today you take charge of your life. Today you decide to move in a new direction. Today you start making more money (if that's what you desire). You get in shape and be healthy, you make more time for your family, you enjoy your life, you do the things you need to do, you no longer put things off. You get things done today.

From now on you believe in yourself. Because when you believe in yourself you give yourself tremendous power. When you believe in yourself you know you can accomplish your goals.

You really are a powerful person when you take control of your inner powers. You direct your subconscious mind. You eliminate the negative thoughts and the negative beliefs. You tell your inner powers exactly what you want. So that they bring you what you want.

For just a moment put aside the fears and doubts. Just imagine that anything you want is possible. It is possible. You can and will achieve your goals. When you direct your inner powers and your subconscious mind to create the life you want. Your subconscious and your inner powers are always working for you. They're always creating and shaping your life. They simply respond to your instructions. Give them the right directions and you'll get exactly what you want.

As an example I want to share with you an email I received the other day from a regular reader of the blog. Sally from New Zealand wrote:

QuoteI want to share something personal with you. When I set out on my own at age 17, I made so many of mistakes it just wasn't funny. At the time, I often saw these mistakes as utter failures on my part. In fact, there were times when I thought I must be a failure.

Though I knew I was destined for so much more, I felt trapped, and I didn't even know what was holding me back. I kept telling myself, "Failure is not an option" - but I have to tell you, there were times when things still got really dark for me. I felt so frustrated at my helplessness. Just when I'd think things were getting better, it felt like a new wrench would get thrown in my plan, or the tools I needed remained frustratingly out of reach.

But now, after reading your blog Mickie, I realize what was holding me back, and what I realized was this: I had these ideas, these beliefs about the world, that just weren't serving me. Worse, my mind was constantly full of thoughts that were bringing me down instead of building me up. I take responsibility for my actions and role in life, but this negative belief system passed down from my childhood was actually blocking me from being the true navigator of my life!

I got an epihany after reading your numerous helpful articles. Now, with hindsight, I can see that these limiting beliefs and negative "mental scripts" were sabotaging my success before I could gain any momentum.

These days, thanks to healing my mind with your 90 day program and my own positive affirmations, limiting beliefs no longer control my life. I am gradually overcoming my problems, and since I upgraded my beliefs system, I now have the freedom to choose the direction in life that I want to travel. I am the navigator in my life!

But what's just as important is how I feel, now that I've been freed from my mental trap. I finally feel like I can enjoy the present moment.

Thanks to your guidance, I now know, deep in my heart, that this abundant universe has everything I need. To tap into that abundance, all I needed to do was learn the right way to receive."

Now, I know what you might be thinking, "Mickie, I can't just change my
beliefs and suddenly everything will work itself out." And it's true, if you don't change your actions, just changing your thinking probably won't bring you the immediate results you desire. But if you're really honest with yourself you will probably realise that if you haven't changed your actions, you haven't truly changed your thinking.

Maybe there were changes on the surface, but not at that deep-down level that changes how you actually see and react to the world.

If you've been reading my articles as hundreds of others have done then that means you're interested in changing some aspect of your thinking or beliefs, which seems to be rooted in a deep, subconscious part of your brain. The easiest way to change the beliefs holding you back is this: when there's something about our lives that we need to change, we often need to learn new ways of thinking so we can navigate the same situations yet get different results.

Whether you've been held back in your finances, in your relationships, or in your weight loss goals, you can change your results. Today I want to give you a way to make this dream become a reality for you.

Click here to rewire your mindset for success!

You have to change your beliefs, upgrade your actions, to get new results. If you're still here with me, I want to ask you, "What's stopping you?" I promise there's a way to get unstuck, and I'm honoured to taking that journey together with you.

Your subconscious and your inner powers are all knowing. They're connected to everyone and everything. They can bring you exactly what you want. But you just have to give them the right instructions.

If you're not living the life you want, if you don't have the success you want, if you're not making the kind of money you want, if you're not in the relationship you want, if you're not as healthy as you want to be then you're not sending the right messages to your subconscious mind and your inner powers.

You're sending the wrong messages. That's why things never get better. Instead, they just get worse. And they'll keep getting worse. Because that's what your subconscious mind and inner powers think you want. They don't know better. They don't decide what's best for you. They leave that to you. And they just follow your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes.

So, if you have a mind filled with negative thoughts, if you're filled with doubts that hold you back, and you don't believe you can, and if you have a negative attitude where you don't think anything will ever work out for you, then you're creating your own misery.

Get your mind working for you

Cute cat caught under the weight of a dumbbellWhen you make the wrong choices, when you don't take the right steps and when you don't do the right things, you continue to struggle.

You doubt yourself so much, you lose confidence. You condition yourself to struggle, you get used to not getting what you want. The self-defeating doubts continue. And things get worse.

You think that's just the way it is. But it doesn't have to be that way. You can turn things around. All you have to do is change your thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes so that they're focused on what you want, and not what you don't want.

As so many readers have discovered, with my 90 day mind healing programme you'll turn things around. You'll direct your subconscious mind and your inner powers to create exactly what you want. And you'll put an end to any misery and struggle.

Commit to changing your life today, and open the doors to success and begin directing your subconscious mind and your inner powers to bring you exactly what you want.

You can achieve your goals. You can live the life you want. You can make more money. You can meet the right person. You can enjoy better health. You can be free do what you want when you want. You are a powerful person - more powerful than you realise. You can achieve anything you want when you direct your subconscious mind and your inner powers. Start doing that today and tell your subconscious mind and your inner powers exactly what you want with my 90 day mind healing programme, so that you get what you want.

For example, if you're struggling with money then things need to change. If your subconscious is programmed for making money you'll create massive wealth. But if it's programmed for poverty, then you'll continue to struggle. How do you know what's on your subconscious? Answer these questions and you'll find out:

  • Do you spend money when you get it?
  • Do you always find you never have enough money?
  • Is it hard to make and/or save money?
  • Is it tough to make as much money as you want?
  • Do you have some money but need to find a way to make more - but haven't done it yet?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you're subconscious is programmed for poverty. It's not programmed to create wealth and make more money. You have a number of blocks holding you back that need to be changed. You have to re-programme your subconscious mind so that it brings you more money.

That means getting rid of the negative beliefs, thoughts, attitudes and actions that cause you to struggle with money. Instead, you create beliefs, attitudes and actions that drive you to create massive amounts of wealth. Once these are planted on the subconscious mind the process becomes automatic.

Having more money can be a good thing. It depends on your point of view. But you may not believe that. You may believe that it will change you. Make you a bad person. Make you selfish. But none of that is true, unless you believe it. You see when you do good things with money it can help a lot of people.

For me money doesn't buy happiness or love, but for many people financial security can lessen the stress in our lives, which can only be a good thing. Financial freedom allows us to pursue more creative endeavours, to help others, and to improve ourselves.

If you don't have the amount of money you want then you don't have your subconscious mind programmed to create wealth.

You're not alone. Most people I meet don't have their subconscious focused on creating wealth. Instead, your subconscious is focused on losing money or creating more financial struggle. And that's the main reason you don't have the kind of money you want. It will never get better, unless you change what's on your subconscious.

What goes on inside a person's mind is far more important than they will ever realise. If you have mental blocks, doubts about your potential or are sceptical, you will certainly see yourself as a "failure". You will never be free unless your mind is first from how you have been brought up to think in a certain limiting way. You have years of brainwashing to overcome if you are to become truly wealthy and free, but you'll find it simple with my mind healing programme to train your subconscious.

Your subconscious is creating your money situations based on your thoughts and beliefs about money. When you don't have the wealth you want, then you've got some powerful negative thoughts and beliefs about money that need to be changed. These negative thoughts and beliefs are blocks that prevent you from making more and having more.

You have to remove these blocks. Change what's on your subconscious when it comes to money. Begin sending the right messages to your subconscious mind about money and making money. Get rid of those blocks; those negative beliefs and negative thoughts about money.

But maybe creating wealth isn't your heart's desire. Maybe you want to discover your true calling, and pursue that for a more fulfilling and purposeful life. Whatever it is you want, get your subconscious mind focused on creating and building the life you deserve - whether that's more love, more wealth or more of both! You need to make lasting changes in your life, so that you constantly enjoy success and happiness throughout your life.

And discovering your true calling is a crucial element to enjoying a life filled with happiness, because when you follow your calling things just flow naturally and easily.

Discover your calling

At some point in our lives, many of us ask that age-old question: "Why am I here? What am I supposed to be doing that I'm not doing?"

Maybe you haven't asked yourself that question. Maybe you just feel like you're not getting the most out of life or that it's become routine, possibly even boring. The reason why this happens is because you're not following your passion - or you haven't discovered your calling.

Each one of us has a separate calling. They may be similar, but the way we go about it, the benefits we get from it and ultimately the true nature of that calling is different. When you are not centred or balanced, when you are not following your calling you end up being restless, agitated, bored and frustrated.

Why is it that some people seem to have such a good time with life? They're successful, in happy relationships, comfortable yet not bored. Why? Ask any of them and they'll tell you: they do what they love. They follow their calling and their passion.

If you find that you're just not enjoying life or feel that you're not getting the most out of life you may not be on the right track any more. You may not be following your calling.

Although I have covered this ground in my "Love is Your True Calling" post, let me explain something about "following your calling".

By this I mean following your passion. Of course in order to do this you first need to know what your passion or your calling is. This passion or calling can and likely will change at different points of your life. Meaning your calling or passion today will likely be different than it was 10 years ago. That's okay. It's actually a good thing. It's a sign of growth, and growth is good.

Now you might say: "Well, how am I supposed to know what my calling is or how do I know if it's changed?" I'm about to help you resolve this.

The first step is to understand and accept that you do have a calling. That you do have a passion that you can follow. That your passion and calling will allow you to live a happy fulfilled life.

Why? Because when you follow your passion, your spirit, or your higher self, or that part of you that is not tied to the ego, is in control. It is happy and doing what it was meant to do. When this happens - that higher part of yourself - that part that we do not scientifically understand but we know exists - begins to connect with the universe on a deeper level.

When it does this it brings together the people and events necessary for you to enjoy your life. I know what you're going to say: "Yeah but Mickie, I don't know what my calling is. What am I supposed to do?"

Don't worry, you're actually half way home. The mere fact that you understand you have a calling and that you recognize your need to follow it is an incredibly positive step. What you need to do next is begin to tap your inner wisdom and subconscious mind to guide you - so that you discover your calling and follow your passion.

Click here for 5 ways to change your life!

How do you do this? First start by telling yourself that you do know what you want to do. Tell yourself that you do know your passion and that you're ready to follow it.

Right about now I usually get the following comment: "Mickie, I just said I don't know what I want to do - how can I tell myself I do know what I want to do when I don't know what my calling is?"

I discuss in my "Let Love Shape Your Destiny" post how every thought that you have can lead to a belief. Beliefs are picked up by the subconscious mind and manifested in reality. If you believe that you don't know what you want to do or that you don't know your calling or that you don't know your passion, then your subconscious mind will simply create opportunities for you to be more and more confused. It will create situations for you, so that you don't know what you want.

If instead, you say you do know your true calling, that you've discovered your true calling, that you are on the right track and you are following your passion - your subconscious will start creating opportunities for you that are in line with your calling and passion.

Sometimes these opportunities are simple signs that would lead you to a path that seems to be off the beaten track. It may even sound like something completely ridiculous at first thought.

But as you follow those signs, those opportunities, you'll find that things fall into place rather easily, you'll start to enjoy the process and then begin to get excited. This can and will only happen when you no longer let your ego mind dominate. When you are no longer doing things to impress other people, but are doing things that you simply enjoy.

Understand these signs along the journey, so that you recognize opportunities and start following your passion as you being living a happy and rewarding life. So get on the right track, discover your calling and follow your passion.

The next step is to start thinking. Put on your thinking cap and get your mind moving in a new direction. Write down want you want. Think about all the things you like doing. Don't worry about how you're going to make money from them for now, just start thinking about all that you like doing. If you had a day off or a week off - what would you do? Don't say: "nothing", because you would likely do what you enjoy.

Start doing those things that you enjoy. Why? Because when you're happy things start to flow naturally. With daily positive affirmations using my mind healing programme, you can tap all your powers - so you get them all working for you - so that you discover your calling and begin living the life you want.

Have some fun

When you enjoy doing something, things start to come together for you.

As you continue doing this you'll find that there are many things that you enjoy, things that you may have stopped doing for some unknown reason.

My twin flame's best friend, Andrew, loved playing basketball every weekend. But after he got married and had a child he found he was no longer playing basketball. He said life was just too hectic. I suggested he start playing again - in fact - I urged him to start playing again, and asked him to call some old friends and get back on the court.

At the time he was fed up with his job. He was no longer satisfied with it and was yearning for a change. He didn't know what he needed to do. He just needed a change. He started playing basketball - at first it was just a few guys, but after a few weeks they had enough for two 5-a-side teams.

One of the guys had just moved here and was looking to start up a small furniture business. Andrew loved buying old furniture, he told me he would often walk around the markets looking for antiques that had been overlooked. He didn't want to buy antiques, he just liked the old style of furniture.

The two of them got to know each other and a year ago started a small business, a furniture shop that specialises in replicating old style furniture, antique style furniture without the antique prices. Andrew found his passion while following another passion, playing basketball.

When you follow your passion, when you do what you enjoy, you get back on track and end up doing what you really want. It all flows naturally, because you're opening yourself up to greater possibilities and you're doing things just for the fun of it, and you're no longer letting your ego dominate. You're just having fun.

Stop banging your head against the wall trying to figure it out. You have all the answers within you. Go inside and learn how to get connected to powers greater than your ego that will allow you to live a rewarding, fulfilling life. This is exactly what my mind healing programme allows you to do. It teaches you how to get your mind working for you. It teaches you how to tap the power of your subconscious, your intuition and your higher self.

Life doesn't have to be painful. It doesn't have to be difficult. Make some time for yourself - you are just as important as all those things that you do that tie up your time during the day.

I can only encourage you to take a chance, and discover your true calling by looking within. The answer is not in a new job, or a new home or a new relationship - it's within. Let your inner powers guide you to the life you want and deserve. Start by doing the things you enjoy - have a little fun - and the road will be wide open and filled with new possibilities.

Take a look at what you like doing in life and start doing it. See how you feel while you're doing it and after you're done. If you don't have the time - make the time, after all it's your life, and this is the only life you have right now. So, make the most of it - start doing the things you enjoy.

Remember - if you don't change your thoughts and beliefs, everything stays the same. If you don't take control - nothing changes. Learn how to regain control of your life. Heal your mind and take back control of your life. get ready to begin living the life you always wanted, to enjoy success, happiness and more, to be more confident. Start healing your mind today, and begin achieving all your goals.

Get started today

Today you're going to learn how to put everything together so that you stay on track. You'll also learn how to continue enjoying success after success.

In order to work with the techniques I outlined in and create the kind of changes or improvements you want in life you have to start doing - you have to start working with the exercises I outline in my 90 day mind healing programme and begin taking charge.

We are all unique individuals, and because of the special way my technique allows you to tailor make your own affirmations, this means that it will work specially customised to your unique needs. There is no magic pill; there is no magic potion that is going to create change for you in an instant. You're where you are because of years of practice - it may not have been something you intentionally did - but you've been thinking and doing the same things, getting the same results for years.

Bounce back with affirmations.

Now you're going to change that practice and it means incorporating new actions, new thoughts and a new philosophy. This will take time and patience. Doing this on your own will take a lot of effort - you'll have to train your mind on your own and learn to direct your subconscious mind on your own. Having a support group is beneficial, as some of us work well and succeed better in groups. But some prefer to do this alone. Use what works best for you.

Understand that you're not going to change your entire life in a day, two days, week, month or 2 months. You can change your brain in two months, but changing your life will be an ongoing process, with your goals changing as you grow and develop. From now on, the sky is the limit.

However, creating change requires discipline and patience. Look at it this way - you're telling your subconscious mind to create a new life for you - it has to change the old one and create new opportunities and a new life. Some people will see results right away - for others it may take longer - it really depends on where you are and where you want to go. The key is to not worry about results, but to just keep on with your affirmations and taking action.

I know everybody wants results and you will get results, but worrying and stressing out, monitoring your progress everyday is actually counter productive, it can go against what you are trying to accomplish.

The changes will happen and the results will come - the key is to continue doing the work and applying the techniques.

With my mind healing programme you'll learn how to set up a system that you
can implement into your everyday life, because you'll take control of your mind and subconscious mind.

The programme can be done during the course of your day. It will create a new habit of thinking and train the mind to send the right messages to the subconscious mind, so that you create the life you want and attract new opportunities to improve your life.

Why people "fail"

The reason most people are unable to improve their life or change their circumstances is because they don't want to learn how to do it, and when they get the information they need - they give up. Why do they do this? Because they fall prey to the excuses generated by their mind.

I can give you hundreds of excuses I've heard. Here are some of those excuses, see if you recognise any of them:

  • Not enough time
  • Don't know if it works
  • Not sure
  • I'll get to it tomorrow
  • Not motivated
  • Not sure if I'm doing it right
  • Something came up
  • I'm not ready

Do any of these sound familiar? This is your life I'm talking about, is it not important to live the life you want?

Now, those who succeed at changing or improving their lives by working with my programme do so because they learn the process and enjoy the process.

They enjoy working with the techniques and seeing what kind of results they get. Most of them can't wait to get started in the morning, because they embrace the process and don't look over their shoulder constantly waiting for results. They know the results are going to come, because they see it having an impact on their lives and they enjoy the process. I know that if you do this course consistently for 90 full days, you will see results. Slack off and you're back where you started.

Success requires commitment and discipline, then it becomes a habit. This is what you develop with my mind healing programme.

You begin to work with the power of your mind and subconscious mind, so that you create the life you want and enjoy success, happiness, and much more.

I've given you some valuable information to work with and hopefully you have a better idea of what you can do to improve your life. I hope you take advantage of my mind healing programme and begin working to achieve your goals. A crucial aspect to finding true happiness, success and fulfilment is to follow your bliss, discover your passions. Remember, if you don't change your thoughts and beliefs, everything stays the same. If you don't take control, nothing changes.

Everyone's life is a hero's journey in many ways. I have heard about so many inspiring personal journeys, where so many incredible things have occurred as a result of changing our negative beliefs. It carries the underlying inspirational message that anyone with courage can go out and build the life that they secretly yearn for. It can in turn leave us feeling inspired and prepared to take on the world.

Your adventure has to come from inside. If you are ready for it, then doors will open where there were no doors before, and where there would not be doors for anyone else. And you must have courage. It's the call to adventure, which means there is no security, no rules.

So, tap into your brain's extra, unconscious potential and use it to attract more more money, love, health and happiness into your life. Be the navigator of your life. Achieve your goals and live the life you want - today.

Yours in love,

Mickie Kent
