“Love feels no burden, thinks nothing of its trouble, attempts what is above its strength, pleads no excuse for impossibility, for it thinks all things are lawful for itself and all things are possible”
— Thomas a Kempis
Today I choose love. Say it to yourself. Say it out loud. Make it a concious decision. Tell the people in your lives you love them. In fact, don't just tell them, show them. Do something for your loved one today, and show them that you care. (And it's not even Valentine's Day!)
Telling someone you love them brings an intimacy to the moment that helps strengthen the connection with your partner. Once we get married, how often do we kiss our partners? Or tell them that we love and appreciate their presence in our lives? It's not just about taking someone for granted, it's also about making ourselves aware of the love we have right under our noses.
My twin flame is always telling me he loves me, but he doesn't wear it out. Because of our connection, his timing is always spot on when he tells me that he loves me.
The first time the other night, in a long while, we fell asleep kind of early. I was tired and he didn't mind. I scratched his back as we dozed off, and I could feel him smiling even though I couldn't see his face.
I woke up really early in the morning, as is my habit. It was still dark out. For some reason I didn't feel much like writing, or updating my blog, I felt a little sad. I ran to the bathroom and back, so Dr Seuss' strange characters I always imagine are under my bed wouldn't grab my feet from behind the shadows. I jumped back under the warm covers and curled up next to his warm body, and he woke up to hold me tight.
He asked me: "Dr Seuss' monsters again?"
I nodded bashfully, as he rubbed my shoulders and kissed me long and softly.
I rolled over to fall back asleep, but he whispered my name. So, I looked back towards him questioningly. And he, lifting his hand to my face, ever so delicately caressed my cheek.
"I love you," he said, "but we really got to knock this monsters thing on the head."
I blew him a raspberry, and we laughed, and in that moment, without saying anything more, we had reaffirmed our life together.
It doesn't take a scientific genius to work it out. You don't have to be the greatest poet in the world. You don't have to be the greatest lover in the world. Heck, you don't have to be the greatest anything in the world.
You just have to choose love.
And then it will choose you.
Yours in love,
