Look (At Yourself) with Love

|

The Price of BeautyLike it or not, appearances matter. Ever increasingly we are becoming more and more obsessed with our body image, and most of us are on the hunt to be body beautiful. But at what price?

We often hear it said that beauty is more then skin deep, but few of us can truthfully say that we don't eye the celebrity pages without some jealousy.

So it would seem that singer Adele, the most successful recording artist in the world right now who has just collected six Grammys, seems to go against all convention with her weight. Adele has a beautiful face, but her weight has been an issue for some, who have long been nurtured on stick-thin images of supermodels.

It's so sad when some make the appearance of people in the public eye an issue. Why is it the last thing we want to see when we look at a pop star is someone like us? Is it because we look in the mirror and we don't like what we see?

We are beautiful but we see ourselves as ugly. We don't want to see that in our pop stars. They are our escape. Don't let them be ugly! Don't let them be fat! That's me! And I don't want to look at me! I hate me! At the heart of it all, the beauty and "perfection" we desire from our pop stars is a reflection of the self-loathing and dissatisfaction we feel for ourselves.

Despite Adele's recent plus-sized triumphs, this is the dilemma we face as 21st century, liberal-thinking, conscientious individuals - because even when we've put all prejudice aside, and condemned every fashion designer and glossy mag for the unrealistic representations of humanity they accost us with - we still cannot believe that we are beautiful just the way we are.

This superficial fascination with the perfect body has been increasing since the latter half of the 20th century, so isn't it time this chapter ended, and a new one arrive?

As a human collective, we are seeing great changes in the world. These are changes we need to make to take care of the Earth and each other and we are beginning to come together and do this.

That is what was needed. We must keep this up. It is not a time to get slack but rather to continue to come together and work together for what we all want and what is in the highest and best interest for all humanity.

These changes are going to impact you in a lot of positive ways once you see what is possible.

Typically, we think we have to do certain things to have what we want and very often those things are not things we want to do. I want you to get that now that the new energies have arrived, we can more easily do whatever we want and have whatever we want.

Now this is not a new premise and it has always been true but it has not always been something you knew or experienced at your core.

The good news is that this is not just a nice idea. It is actually easy to have your life be this way now. And in fact, it is actually imperative for you to do what you want to have the life you actually desire. I am talking about the whole thing - all aspects of the life you want.

So, let me tell you a couple of things quickly that you will want to know.

  1. You need to see yourself having what you want before it happens and know it is so.
  2. You need to get that it is always this way and never underestimate the power of who you really are.
  3. You have the ability now to partner with your higher consciousness in ways unheard of before to make this happen so easily you will think you are a magician ... and in a way you are.

Because when you look with love, beauty - and prosperity - doesn't have to come at a price.

Yours in love,

Mickie Kent
